Our Pitching Philosophy

I founded Precision Pitching Academy based upon my love of baseball especially, pitching. I have developed an expert knowledge and passion for pitching throughout my baseball career and it really evolved when I was a pitcher at The University of Georgia from 2010-2013. The biggest thing I learned in what makes a great pitcher is simple, precision over power. Pitching is one of the fundamental parts of baseball. Over time, the art of pitching has evolved but the fundamentals remain constant. Precision and accuracy with your mechanics and pitches will increase your chances of success each pitch, not just velocity alone. We are all built different and at PPA, I believe in understanding each pitcher's unique abilities to be able to uncover their full potential. My personalized approach aims to increase confidence, enhance skills and unleash the full pitching prowess of young players, creating a pathway to success on the field.

When my son first met Bryan to start lessons, we planned for it to be a challenge. Something he could work on over the winter - learn how to outwork others, dig in when the weather wasn't great, find some grit - all while building on a skill. Aside from his tremendous knowledge base for the sport, it was apparent immediately that Bryan has a love for kids and a calm/patience about teaching that MOST do not possess. He was able to take a small desire to pitch better and ignite a fire in Noah we did not see coming. We saw a new confidence begin to grow and a kid invest in himself more than we expected. Noah would ask to pitch outside in the snow on vacation, try to beat the rain clouds home from school to make sure he got his drills in, bundled up for lessons that probably made them both cringe at the temperatures.
Bryan learned Noah. He took the time and attention to see HOW Noah learned best, to make sure he understood every adjustment, taught him to identify the need for him to know his own adjustments. He earned his respect, but also built a friendship along with it. He remembers what Noah is excited about/follows up on conversations they were having, asks about how he did in games and celebrates WITH Noah. He challenges him, encourages him, laughs with him. Noah has not only grown as a player but as a person. Taking accountability for his own success and asking for help when he needs it.
I am so grateful to have met Bryan and to be able to stand on the side and watch their dynamics grow and evolve over the last several months. Noah has never had a coach more invested in him. As a mom you want to see your kid succeed - but watching Bryan empower Noah, believe in him, pick him up and show him what he is capable of is immeasurable. I cannot wait to see what this next year will bring for these two!

Coach Bryan has completely transformed my son’s pitching! Not only has his velocity and control improved, but his confidence on the mound has grown tremendously. Coach Bryan was able to break down mechanics in a way that made sense for my son and tailored each lesson to address his individual needs. My son’s growth, as evidenced by stats, are a direct reflection of Coach Bryan’s ability to make adjustments to my son’s pitching along the way to make a huge impact. If you are looking for a pitching coach who is knowledgeable, experienced, and truly invested in your child’s success, Coach Bryan is an amazing!
